Join CAUBE.AU
Membership of CAUBE.AU is open to
anybody in Australia who shares CAUBE.AU's
opposition to email spam.
You will need to provide us with
your name, your email address, your physical
address, your citizenship status and your federal
electorate. For more information see - why we collect this information, what
we do with it, and what
happens if you don't provide it.
If you don't know your federal
electorate, you can look it up by visiting the Australian
Electoral Commission web site and selecting
the "Electorate Search" link towards
the bottom left hand corner of the page.
You will be sent an electronic
mail message which will tell you how to confirm
your membership. It is vital that you read this
message and confirm the membership, otherwise we
cannot count you as a member.
We would rather not collect this information, however
because CAUBE.AU undertakes lobbying activities on behalf
of its members, we are obliged to take all reasonable
steps to maintain the integrity of the membership list.
We also need to have membership statistics broken out by
states and electorates, and we need to be able to provide
politicians with evidence of those statistics.
The email address supplied on the web forms is used to
send a request to confirm your membership. This serves as
a mechanism to prevent rampant fraud of the signup pages.
If you check the box to subscribe to the newsletter, we
will also send you the CAUBE.AU newsletter by email.
Regular editions of this newsletter will appear
approximately once every three months, and special events
such as a time critical political action may result in
special edition newsletters. Additionally, if there is
ever any question raised regarding the validity of your
membership, we may use email to contact you.
All information except the email address may be
provided to sitting Members and Senators, but only
information on CAUBE.AU members in the electorate of the
Member or state of the Senator in question.
CAUBE.AU will not supply your email
address to anybody under any circumstances.
The state and electorate information, in addition to
being used to determine which politicians might be given
your details, will be used to maintain statistics on
membership by state and electorate.
If you don't provide a valid email address you will be
unable to confirm your membership. As we cannot count
unconfirmed members in any context, this means the
membership will be void.
If you don't provide valid address information, some
politicians may disregard you as a member, thus reducing
the weight of your membership in our lobbying efforts. If
you still wish to withhold this information, use a hyphen
("-") in the "address" and
"town/suburb" fields, and '0000' in the
postcode field.
If you do not want us to supply any of your
information at all to politicians, you can choose
"Not Represented" for your electorate and
"Other Territory" for your state. Note that
once again, politicians may disregard members who do
this, so it does weaken our lobbying efforts.
